GPS Blog #15 – 18th December 2020

Women’s Executive Network

At the start of the month Dr Mandela was the special guest speaker for the Canadian Women’s Executive Network. She engaged in a fireside chat with Arisa Cox at the annual gala; Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards; Top 100 Awards – WXN (wxnetwork.com) She shared views on leadership, goal setting and being the best that one can be.

Dr Mandela was also inducted into the WXN Honorary Hall of Fame.  WXN’s Hall of Fame is the highest honour reserved for women who have demonstrated business and social impact through their noteworthy achievements. With delighted, Dr Mandela stated;

‘I am very grateful and appreciate the WXN Honorary Hall Of Fame. I accept this with humility.’

How to Change the World Summit

The following day Dr Mandela participated in the How to Change The World Summit delivered by the How To Academy. Led in conversation by  Paul Van Zyl (who served as the Executive Secretary of South Africa’s post-apartheid Truth and Reconciliation Commission) she had a lively discussion on ‘Diversity & Inclusion’ and ‘Democracy’.

Web Summit

Alongside speakers such as; Serena Williams, Kevin Hart, Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim Berners-Lee, Dr Mandela joined the Web Summit. She spoke on ‘Collaboration’; ‘Tech and building for the future’ along with giving insight into the work of the House of Mandela Family Foundation.

GPS Blog #14 – 7th November 2020

Enjoy David Seaman as he partners up with John Barnes and they take on Celebrity Supermarket Sweep. The show will be aired today (Nov 7th) on ITV1 at 17:15, and will feature celebrities including: Scarlett Moffatt, Jacqueline Jossa and Linda Robson.

It’s set to be a great episode, as the celebrities give their all to win the £10,000 cash prize for charity. Expect some laughs along the way!

GPS Blog #13 – 7th October 2020

Towards the end of September, our client astrophysicist and poker-champion Liv Boeree delivered a keynote at the AI Summit for Farvest. Originally this talk was supposed to take place in Luxembourg in the Spring, but this was postponed and moved to an online event for this year. Liv’s talk, titled ‘Exploring the evolution of AI through Gaming’ was incredibly well-received and Liv continues to be globally in demand.

Elsewhere, our newest client Dr Maki Mandela, eldest daughter of President Mandela, joined Flutter Entertainment for a virtual keynote & keynote, as they launched a programme of Black History Month events. Dr Mandela discussed racial/gender equality and achieving social justice, inspired great feedback from those watching from a span of global offices.

David Seaman is a proud Yorkshire man, so a perfect fit when Yorkshire brand Plusnet were looking for star power for an activity built around Yorkshire Day.

People from Yorkshire have long since been known for their money-savvy ways, and being clever with their spend. So at a time like this when everyone is looking to make the most of what they have, Plusnet think there’s a lot that people can learn from Yorkshire.

Yorkshire has its very own regional holiday – Yorkshire Day – on 1st August, and as Plusnet’s home region – They want to use the day to celebrate this trait and encourage others to be more like them.

Kyran Bracken has penned a column in Rugby World magazine. This article explores the current state of Rugby, and asks the question – Is Rugby in a right mess now with or without COVID? The article makes a great read, so be sure to check it out.

GPS Blog #9 – 17th July 2020

Tomorrow, the 18th July, as well as being the birthday of Nelson Mandela, the date marks Nelson Mandela International Day. This was declared by the UN General Assembly in 2009, in recognition of the former South African President’s contribution to the culture of peace and freedom.

On the eve of this special day, it’s with great pleasure that GamePlan can announce that we’re now working exclusively with Dr Makaziwe (Maki) Mandela, Nelson’s eldest daughter. GPS will be focused on opportunities outside Africa in terms of amplifying her voice on matters such as; Female Empowerment, Leadership, Social Justice, Commercial Farming and Prison Reform, along with managing media engagements and driving awareness of the House of Mandela Family Foundation.

GPS Blog #8 – 29th June 2020

On Friday 25th June Dalton Grant was engaged to surprise a group of 25 students involved in the Freshfields Stephen Lawrence Scholarship Scheme. The programme is for students from African-Caribbean background who aspire to a career with a city law firm.

Through a webinar, Dalton shared with the students some of his experiences as a three time Olympian, with a particular focus on mindset and preparing for success. His presentation was very well received and there were some lively questions from the participants at the close.

GPS Blog #7 – June 9th 2020

Rugby podcast RuckIt! Hosted by Kyran along with Nick Easter now airs twice week, entertaining fans on Wednesdays & Fridays. The pod is doing well in the charts as the guys cover off topical rugby issues, share stories and interview special guests. Dr Maki. Mandela, Sir Ian Botham, Shaun Edwards, Katy Daley-McLean and new All Black Captain Sam Cane.

Kyran has been showing off his Rugby skills and trickshots on his newly launched YouTube and TikTok via his Channel SkillsGuru. The platform aims to encourage viewers to: Enjoy, Learn and Improve, through the weekly content that Kyran posts. Posts include: his Scrum Half Mastery, drills with the family and skill shots. Well worth a watch!

GamePlan were delighted to once again be involved with the ITV show ‘Harry’s Heroes: Euro Having a Laugh’, contracting David Seamen and Ray Parlour. Following on from last years programme, this time around a cast of England legends travel through Europe enjoying the sights, beers, naked footballers and beating Germany at the finale. Well worth a watch.

Our scientist and decision-making expert Liv Boeree continued to demonstrate her worldwide demand, through her interview in Spanish Magazine Muy Interesante. Liv delved into her thinking on the COVID issue, and how we as humanity can move on from this together. Stay safe everyone.

GPS Blog #6 – April 14th

GamePlan were delighted to assist the NHS in securing talent for their latest ‘#OurNHSHeroes’ video – part of the Thank You Thursday initiative.

The initiative encourages everyone to take a moment out of their busy lives to give thanks to those NHS workers who are saving lives on the frontline, during the continued chaos of COVID-19.

Our talent: Ben Cohen & Kristina Rihanoff, David & Frankie Seaman and Kyran Bracken were all more than happy to get involved with the video to express their own personal gratitude.
